D. L. Waterhouse retired in 2011 from the labor force and currently lives in the Pacific Northwest. At 22, he returned from the Vietnam campaign in Southeast Asia and made his first home in Tennessee, then in Washington State. He also became a long-distance truck driver in Memphis, eventually making other trades such as carpentry, roofing, dump-truck driving, heavy equipment operator, etc. Through the years, he's been into recreational activities involving horses, flying, hunting, and photography.
At 55, he discovered something he never dreamed existed—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It changed his life forever, as he, therefore, quotes, "I have had a lot of fun in my life; done a lot of fun things. But the most exciting experience I have ever had was the most recent time I shared the Gospel with someone. That is how and why I began to write."
